I'm a lover of all things sweatshirts... red ones, blue ones, big ones, small ones, literally any ones, as long as they are in some small way excellent.

dear _____,
it's amazing what is available to us. We are new and young and high-spirited, but naive and fearful of making mistakes, let alone making an impact. It's impossible to avoid our importance as the next stage of what is happening. If I were to put it into a picture there would be so much colour you wouldn't be able to blink for fear of missing a tiny bit of it. I am ruled by time and deadlines and structure, so much so that I don't know where to draw the line. This isn't necessary to make me happy. For is it not happiness that we all strive for. We alll want to be the funniest, most interesting, most persuasive, earn the most, garner the most respect, get the best mark and all these other fruitless ventures. Surely what we realy want is to be happy, not even to be the happiest because that isn't the point, but to be happy, on our own terms.

It doesn't matter what other people think or say or do, such a cliche will incur an outpouring of scorn but I don't care. This is the point. It doesn't matter what other people think or say or do. There is so much to be gained from just getting on with things and not avoiding thinking altogether but not spending hours thinking about what could go wrong and how you or I could be mocked or held back but just thinking about pushing forward and changing things.

We'll see what happens... anything could and will happen.
